Hard drives 2 and 3 are set up in Raid 0 (making it visible as one hard drive), holding all current EW Play libraries as well as Komplete 5 and a couple of other libraries. This wouldn't be possible in a 32 bit environment. Having the four groups loaded accounts for about 4.5 GB. In Sibelius I can now load on one single laptop a full film orchestra using EWQLSO (woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings) in 4 Play instances, all with the full keyswitched master instruments. The way this works - in the first situation - is that it reads all 64 bit plugins, converts them into something that a 32 bit program can see and puts them in a destination file of your choosing. Kellogg, 21 Jul 03:38AMįor the benefit of everyone running Sibelius on a 64 bit PC using lots of virtual instruments: for a couple of months now there is a new inexpensive (EUR 15) software tool called 'jBridge' which allows 64 bit plugins to be used in a 32 bit applications (such as Sibelius), and vice versa, and even 32 bit applications in a 32 bit sequencer (but without the 32 bit 2-3 GB memory limit). 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Martin P. 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Martin Bolt, 21 Jul 01:45AM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Claude Marc Bourget, 26 Jun 03:30PM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Jonathan Loving, 26 Jun 02:21PM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Claude Marc Bourget, 26 Jun 01:40PM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Jonathan Loving, 26 Jun 02:55AM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Daniel Spreadbury, 25 Jun 11:12PM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Jonathan Loving, 25 Jun 01:01PM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Daniel Spreadbury, 25 Jun 12:03PM ![]() 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Claude Marc Bourget, 24 Jun 08:13PM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Jonathan Loving, 24 Jun 08:00PM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Claude Marc Bourget, 24 Jun 06:13PM 6.0: Sibelius and jBridge on a 64 bit PC - Peter Roos, 03 Sep 08:13PM the performance features is no good for me.Messages in this thread Sib. In all, my experience is that Jbridge is a blessing. ![]() I'm going to go to 12 or 16gb ram soon, considering that the system seems to take all you throw at it. Its solid, responsive and just chimes away with all them cores. I see the memory going up to 6-7 GB ram, easily! No more disk swapping, etc. With 64 bit, Cubase loads all into memory. The memory management of the 64bit architectures is unbelievable. The whole ReWire thing, in hindsight, is more of a bottle-neck in my workflow.Ĭubase 6 64bit is stunning, considering i was still on Cubase 3 SX. Thus, I stopped using Reason almost 1/2 ago, and to be honest, i don't miss it. Cubase 64bit, Maschine 64bit was too tempting to hold back on. Waiting is the obvious answer, but for what?įor me my hold-back was Reason stubbornly remaining 32bit (its crazy). Obviously, it is rather a question of when, not if.Īt some point its just a matter of decide when one thinks it is time. having to make the decision to go from 32 to 64 bit is truly a judgment call. Click to expand.i can't speak to the VSTs you have problem with, so never mind that.
